What do you love about Abiding Savior Lutheran School?
We love Abiding Savior. This is our third school year, and I love that we know many of the kids and see teachers and staff from past school years. It is a safe space for our daughter to learn, grow, make friends, and learn about Jesus’s love for us and others.
Why did you choose Abiding Savior for your child(ren)?
The benefit of Abiding Savior for us is that they offer classes for all age ranges 3yrs old – 8th grade. Instead of transitioning somewhere new between Pre K and Kindergarten, our child showed up to Kindergarten orientation knowing right where to go. It gave us joy to see her confidence to start the year. We look forward to that continuing as she moves up grades in the years to come.
In what ways have you seen your child grow in their faith as a result of their experience at Abiding Savior?
We began our Abiding Savior experience in the Love to Know Summer Camp program. That first summer, our daughter began leading prayers at dinner (at three years old). It’s amazing to me when she tells us about Bible stories– her favorite being Daniel & the Lion’s Den (thanks to Mrs. Harr’s great intro in Jr. Kindergarten). It’s incredible to us how God’s love works in every situation– choices, actions, words, and friendships. More often than not, our daughter reminds us of where God is shining his light – whether it’s a rainbow or in the rain.
What is one word your family would use to describe the Abiding Savior experience?
Compassionate
What would you tell other parents to encourage them to consider enrolling their children at Abiding Savior?
Abiding Savior has given our family so much. From the curriculum, athletics, activities, and community. You walk in every day and your child is welcomed by first name. If your family schedule requires before or after school care, the staff of the program is incredible. Our daughter often asks to wake up early to go to before care just to catch the prayer and bible verse to start the day. Overall, I truly appreciate every aspect of the school and church and their efforts to provide a nurturing and interactive environment for all students.
